I stumbled across a blog post yesterday called Drops of Awesome. I highly recommend you take time to read it, but her basic point was that we should all celebrate our successes without diminishing them with guilt over past mistakes or worry over future failure.
As I read, I kept thinking about the challenge and all of the {awesome!} people I’ve had participate over the years. I thought about how wonderful it is that we are all working toward the same goal…a healthier lifestyle! I hope the prize money is a great motivator, I hope reporting to me each week helps you stay on track with your goals, but I also hope you are keeping in mind the end goal – a healthier you!
Each time you choose an apple instead of a doughnut with your breakfast you are getting healthier. {CELEBRATE!} Each time you go out for a run, get to the gym, or put on a workout video you are getting healthier. {CELEBRATE!} Each moment you spend growing spiritually you are getting healthier. {CELEBRATE!}
These healthy choices are not negated by any other choice you make. So you only had 15 minutes to work out today. {CELEBRATE!} those 15 minutes! So you only ate 2 vegetable servings today. {CELEBRATE!} those 2 servings. So you gave into a junk food craving today, but you still ate all your fruit servings and drank all 64oz of water. {CELEBRATE!} those successes!
Every point you record on your tracker represents a healthy choice. And whether you are in 1st place, 5th place, or 50th place, those healthy choices are helping you get on the right track. So, please don’t give up. Please, just for these 8 weeks, keep recording and celebrating each and every one of those points. Report to me each week whether you get 1645 points or 645 points. I want to hear about them and celebrate with you. Even 645 points in a week represent a minimum of 20 healthy choices! Take time to {CELEBRATE!} each and every one.

I agree with Deborah, this one hit me personally. I will focus more on what I did achieve in the time I did have in a day and remember the end result, instead of what I could have done. Thank you.

Yes! Notice and CELEBRATE each success, whether a healthy choice, a task off a list, or a kind smile to a stranger. This will be my daily affirmation this week. Thank you!
