Homemade Hot Chocolate

December 9, 2014 by Tiffany 2 Comments

This delicious Homemade Hot Chocolate is clean eating, low-calorie, refined sugar free, and loaded with healthy cocoa!

Healthy Homemade Hot Chocolate | Feel Great in 8

A whole bunch of you requested a healthy homemade hot chocolate recipe to get you through the winter and HERE IT IS!! This hot cocoa is creamy, rich, super chocolatey, and perfect for snuggling up by the fire with a good book on a snowy day!

It also has tons of different options. You can use regular or almond milk, vanilla or an essential oil {like peppermint or wild orange…YUM!}, or even another flavored extract. You can also sweeten it with pure maple syrup, honey, or unrefined coconut sugar. I give you permission to test out a different flavor combination every night until you find your favorite. Just try to stick with one serving of each. 😉

P.S. I also feel like I need to point out the fact that I added chocolate chips to the photo but don’t use chocolate chips in the recipe. I ate the last square of my dark chocolate bar while making the hot chocolate and needed to add some interest to the plate. You don’t actually need dark chocolate chips make this. Sorry for the confusion. Unless you didn’t even notice, in which case, just ignore my rambling.

I hope you and your family enjoy this one as much as mine has!
