I’m a serious bookworm and always have been, so I am always looking for new uplifting books to add to my shelf {or lately, my iPad or my phone}. For Feel Great in 8 Challenge points, you can definitely read an ebook and listening to an audiobook counts too. With 4 little ones, listening to books while I workout, clean, and do laundry is pretty much the only way I am able to fit in reading. 🙂 If you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend it! Right now you can even get 2 free audiobooks from audible. CLICK HERE TO TRY AUDIBLE FOR FREE.
Anyway, I generally split my daily reading time between scripture and other uplifting books. Here are just a few of my favorite uplifting books…
The Jackrabbit Factor by Leslie Householder – Great book on the power of positive thinking.

I thought I’d leave a reply about a book I’ve been reading so far. It’s called “Emotional Intelligence 2.0″. Extremely great book which highlights how we can all become more successful in life, our careers, relationships, etc. if we would learn to increase our emotional intelligence. It talks of how our senses travel up our spinal column and will encounter our limbic system prior to our brain’s rational center. Because this happens, if we are not taught to regulate or identify our emotions at any given time (emotional intelligence) our limbic system can essentially hijack our abililty to think rationally or with intelligence. Our goal should be to have the two portions of our brains (emotional & rational) be in constant communication. An interesting fact they discovered…”people with the highest levels of intelligence (IQ) outperform those with average IQs just 20% of the time, while people with average IQs outperform those with high IQs 70% of the time.” That means we should all really try and focus on increasing our EQ, maybe even more so that our IQ. There are 4 basic areas in EQ: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management. I’m only part way through the book but it’s highly motivating and helps me really to understand how I can become a more controlled individual in any situation where emotions can get the best of me (which we’re all susceptible to).
Again, the book is called “Emotional Intelligence 2.0” by Travis Bradberry & Jean Greaves. Highly recommend it!!
