Plus, a whole bunch of delicious healthy ways to use them! We’ll be talking salty chips, cinnamon chips, and of course lots of healthy real food dip recipes!
If you’re a Utah local make sure to watch on Thursday at 1:00pm. Don’t worry if you miss it though, I’ll make sure to post a video clip on the blog…as long as I don’t do anything horribly embarrassing. 😉 Either way, I’m sure we’ll get you craving mexican food and these yummy homemade favorites!
You really do have to give these recipes a try! They are so much easier than you would ever guess and SO yummy! I bet you’ll never go back to store-bought again!
First of all, here is the recipe for Homemade Corn Tortillas.
Make those babies first, eat a few fresh out of the pan, jump for joy, and then come back here to turn them into crispy, salty, delicious homemade baked chips! YUM!
- 4 homemade corn tortillas or homemade whole wheat tortillas
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- coarse sea salt
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line the bottom of one or two baking sheets with foil or lightly coat with oil.
- Very lightly brush or spray both sides of each tortilla with olive oil {I use and love a Misto Olive Oil Sprayer}. Stack the tortillas in a pile and cut into 8 wedges.
- Arrange the wedges on the baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake in preheated oven for 8-12 minutes. Rotate the pans halfway through to avoid burning in hot spots. The chips are done when the edges are crisp and dry. They will still be slightly flexible in the middle, but will continue to crisp as they cool.
- Remove the trays from the oven and let cool. Test a chip when they are mostly cooled and if it isn't as crisp as you like, return the tray to the oven for 2-3 more minutes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight plastic bag or container.
